Who doesn't like chocolate cake? There are so many to choose from. And the great thing about this recipe is that you can leave out some of the ingredients, like the espresso powder. Chocolate cake no matter how you make it, still taste great. The fun part about the cake is that you can choose what kind of frosting to use and how you want to decorate it. Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon espresso powder
- 1 cup milk or buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Blend and mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, espresso powder and the baking soda. Then add in the milk, oil, eggs, and the vanilla extract. Stir. Mix the hot water in the batter.
- Turn on oven to 175 degrees.
