Hot Vanilla Drink

I ran out of coffee yesterday but didn't have a chance to pick some up today. I had been drinking several cups of hot tea but wanted something different. I was searching through recipes and came across this recipe and decided to try it. The great thing about this recipe is that you can either add ingredients or take out some that you don't like. You can even put in more or less of the ingredient. For this recipe, I used 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar because I love the taste of cinnamon and vanilla. Even my husband liked this drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 TBSP vanilla extract
  • 1/2 TBSP sugar
  • 1/2 TBSP cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until it is blended. When it is as hot as you like, turn off the stove and pour into your cup. Drink and enjoy.

Yummy Tuna Cakes

Tonight was the first time in years that I made these tuna cakes. They were as easy and delicious as I remembered. My husband has never tried them but he loved them. I think you would be amazed at how good they taste.
These tuna cakes are easy to make. All you need to do is stir the ingredients together. There is no tuna fish that is different than the others. In order to make the tuna cakes, you just take some of the mixtures, roll it in a ball then press down until you make a patty.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans tuna, drained
  • 1 egg
  • 1 TBSP onion, minced
  • dash paprika
  • 1/8 tsp oregano
  • 1 slice bread, small pieces

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the drained tuna fish, egg, onion, paprika, oregano, and the small pieces of bread. Mix together well. Make it into patties and fry them in a skillet. Fry them like you would a hamburger.

Homemade Apple Crisp

I wanted to make apple crisp today so I went and peeled, cored and sliced the apples and placed them in the baking dish. I didn't have the recipe that I used so I went online to find one but in the end, I had to use the ingredients from two recipes to make this apple crisp. I think it turned out great. My husband liked it, also. One recipe had brown sugar which I didn't have so I substituted white sugar instead. Since this recipe used butter, I went online to find a recipe with no butter. So I used canola oil instead. so, in the end, I took the ingredients and the amount and came up with my own recipe. I hope you like it as much as I do.
The great thing about apple crisp is that you can take out ingredients or add some and come up with your own recipe. It is also healthy for you.

Ingredients

  • 6-9 Apples, Sliced
  • 1/3 cup Canola Oil
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 cup White sugar
  • 1/2 cup Water

Instructions

  1. Peel, core and slice apples. In a bowl, mix together flour, white sugar, and canola oil. Stir until it crumbles.
  2. In a baking dish, place apples evenly. Sprinkle the cinnamon on top of the apples then pour in the water. Take the sugar, flour and oil mixture and pour evenly over the apples.
  3. Bake the apple crisp at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until apples are tender and the top is brown.

Yummy Fruit Salad

Every year for holidays, my mom makes her pear salad. This year for Memorial Day, my Uncle wanted to make his fruit salad. I am glad that he did. This fruit salad was gone in a day. It is so simple to make. You just need four ingredients. For my mom's pear salad you need to make the jello but with this one, you just open the jello box and pour in the cool whip. You can use any flavor. It is delicious with the oranges and the fruit cocktail. I hope you enjoy this as much as my family does.

Chocolate Cake

Who doesn't like chocolate cake? There are so many to choose from. And the great thing about this recipe is that you can leave out some of the ingredients, like the espresso powder. Chocolate cake no matter how you make it, still taste great. The fun part about the cake is that you can choose what kind of frosting to use and how you want to decorate it. Have fun frosting the cake and decorating it.

Homemade Popovers

I love the taste of popovers. It is good with butter and jam. I tried something different this time. Instead of greasing the muffin pan, I placed cupcake liners in the pan. The popover still tasted great but is was not easy taking off the paper. So I think the next time, I will just grease the pan.
